SOUL Server could not be connected error? OR SOUL Server IP needs to be changed?

  1. Go to Path : C:\program files\INFLIBNET Centre\SOUL20LE or C:\program files\INFLIBNET Centre\SOUL20 and double-click the ClearSOULRegValue.exe
  2. Click on 'Clear Settings'.
  3. Make sure SOUL Server is running and if computer is in network then Server Computer and Client Computers are properly connected.
  4. Open the SOUL Application, and set the Server IP again.

Note : If computer is Stand-Alone ie. computer is not in the network with any other computer and is also not connected to internet then provide the IP as 127.0.0.1

How to take BACKUP of SOUL Database?

(Note: Backup/Restore can be done on the Server Computer only so make sure that Backup / Restore Utility is installed on SOUL Server Computer only)

  1. Go To Start
  2. Go to All Programs
  3. Go to Microsoft SQL Server 2005
  4. Click on SQL Server Management Studio

  • Server Name = Computer Name on which the SQL Server lies

  • Authentication = SQL Server Authentication

  • Login = sa

  • Password = ( SA Password )

  • On Left-Hand Side, select the Database under the Databases option of which

  • Backup has to be taken

  • Right-click the database, select Task, select Backup.

  • In Source -> Database = Database of which Backup has to be taken

  • In Destination -> Click 'Add' and Select the path on which Backup needs to be stored (Note: Make sure that backup is stored on some safe path which is more safe than other paths regarding virus attack.)
  • Click 'OK.'

  • On Successful completion it will give a success message otherwise it will give warning.

  • In case a warning/error is there, Forward the same with possibly a Screen Shot to us. (Note: See 3. How to take Screen Shot? for further process.)

How to Restore a Backup of SOUL Database?

  1. Go To Start
  2. Go to All Programs
  3. Go to Microsoft SQL Server 2005
  4. Click on SQL Server Management Studio

  • Server Name = Computer Name on which the SQL Server lies

  • Authentication = SQL Server Authentication

  • Login = sa

  • Password = ( SA Password )

  • On Left-Hand Side, Right Click the 'Databases' and select 'Restore Database...' option. In 'To Database' field, either select the name of database on which to restore the backup or Give a new name of the database that to create and restore.

  • In 'Source for Restore' part, Select 'From Device' option, and browse the Backup File in the path where it is stored. Select that file, and give Ok.

  • In the 'Select Backup sets to restore' option, generally there would be a single file so select that single file and on the left hand side select 'Options' page. (Note: It is possible that in 'Select Backup sets to restore' option more than one sets is shown in that case select the one that is latest on the date.)

  • In Option page, select the option 'Overwrite the existing database' as default Click 'Ok.'

If @ symbol is in Handshake Key

In case SOUL Server generates Handshake Key or ask Activation Key again and that key has '@' symbol in it then this key is not proper and SOUL Server has been started more than once.

What to do if SOUL Application asks CD?


  1. Close the SOUL Application and Server both, if running

  2. Go to My Computer

  3. Go to the path : C:\Program Files\INFLIBNET Centre\SOUL20 Or C:\Program Files\INFLIBNET Centre\SOUL20LE

  4. In SOUL20 OR SOUL20LE Folder, Go to View

  5. Select the Details Option

  6. Now locate the file named SOUL, and its type will be written as 'Application'

  7. Right Click the same, and select the option Send To -> Desktop.

  8. On Desktop, look for the Icon named 'Shortcut to SOUL'

  9. Double - Click that and SOUL Application will start

  10. Now delete the old Icon through which SOUL Application used to start previously

Error [12502] Invalid Object Name

The particular error is occuring because the Database for SOUL has not been created properly. Please create the database from Installer or import the existing one.
